Vancouver BC Bioidentical Hormone Doctor, Nicholas Jensen, N.D., at My True Balance grew up in the small town of Osoyoos B.C and completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Okanagan University Collage, now known as UBC Okanagan.

Doctor Jensen went on to attend Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, graduating in 2007 as a Doctor of Naturopathic medicine. Following graduation his desire to deepen his understanding of other healing modalities took him to South East Asia and India with his now wife and business partner Doctor Sonya Jensen, N.D.

With a background in sports, Doctor Nick was initially drawn to medicine as a way to work with athletes, but his experiences in Naturopathic school as well as his travels abroad ignited in him a passion to work with patients to integrate modern medicine and the eastern philosophy that healing doesn’t just happen at the physical level but must include the mind and spirit for lasting changes to be made.

Dr. Nick treats a wide variety of chronic illness but specializes in endocrinology, hormonal imbalance, chronic pain and inflammation. He practices acupuncture and is a certified Neural –Prolo therapist. Neural-prolo therapy is a treatment administered just under the skin in or close to subcutaneous nerves through a series of superficial injections. This treatment has been shown to decrease neurogenic inflammation, which is a key contributor to chronic pain, allowing for normal flow of Nerve Growth Factor and subsequent nerve repair with analgesia.

In 2009, Nicholas Jensen, N.D., opened Divine Elements Health Centre with his wife Doctor Sonya. Now three years into their practice, Doctor’s Nick and Sonya are excited to be expanding to include Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy or BHRT. Under the guidance of Canada’s leading BHRT and longevity specialist Doctor Ron Brown, Divine Elements has opened the first Truebalance clinic in BC using Doctor Brown’s proven effective Trueblance system. The addition of this powerful and effective treatment into the clinic, along with the strong foundation in the holistic approach of Naturopathic medicine, gives Vancouver BC Bioidentical Hormone Doctor, Nicholas Jensen, N.D., many ways to work with his patients in helping them achieve the life filled with balance and vitality they desire.

Vancouver BC Bioidentical Hormone Doctor, Sonya Jensen, N.D. graduated from Simon Fraser University in 2002 with a Cell and Molecular Biology degree.

Her fascination with the human body and how it works led her to continue on the path of learning at The Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine where after 4 years of in depth study she became a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine.

After graduating she travelled extensively through South East Asia and India which gave her a deeper understanding of how she can incorporate a holistic approach to healing not only the body, but also the mind and soul.

Doctor Sonya specializes in Women’s Health and Pediatrics and it is through this work that she has come to understand how important a healthy, balanced hormonal system is for women. She believes that a healthy mom helps makes for a healthy family and so her passion lies in working with women to create health and harmony in their lives.

Her training spans over several modalities, including acupuncture, Ayurvedic medicine, and Bowen Therapy. Bowen Therapy works to help promote a more balanced state in the nervous system. Our society tends to be very sympathetic fight or flight, action response dominant and this can result in a parasympathetic healing, rejuvenating system that is never given a chance to respond. By coaxing the body’s parasympathetic system to into the picture, the body’s innate healing nature can work.

In 2009, Doctor Sonya along with her husband and fellow Naturopathic Doctor, Nicholas Jensen, N.D. opened Divine Elements Health Centre in the heart of Kitsilano in Vancouver, BC. They have spent the past 3 years developing their practice and deepening their understanding of how to work with their patients to create lasting changes in overall health and wellbeing.

In 2012 both doctors trained with Doctor Ron Brown, the leader in Bioidentical Hormone Therapy in Canada, and saw the integration of the Truebalance Bioidentical Hormone Replacement system as an exciting opportunity to offer this effective and proven treatment to patients. Using her foundation in Naturopathic medicine in combination with the truebalance system, Vancouver BC Bioidentical Hormone Doctor, Sonya Jensen, N.D. can see the potential to work with her patients to rediscover their strength and their own inner healer.
